Philippe Vitat is vice president of Digestive Diseases Education Company (DDEC), a therapeutically focused medical education agency headquartered in Chicago. Mr. Vitat is also the cofounder and medical editor of IMPACT™, a DDEC-produced, regional symposium series held throughout the United States, which provides clinicians with annual updates on the management of digestive disorders, metabolic syndromes, and infectious diseases. He is regarded as one of the foremost medical writers in these fields and has authored or contributed to numerous clinical research and review articles published in the medical literature, including such peer-reviewed journals as Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Reviews in Gastroenterological Disorders, The American Journal of Gastroenterology, and The Journal of Family Practice. He is an active member of the American Medical Writers Association, periodically volunteering as a copy editor for the association's journal, and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association. He has received the Madison Who's Who 2007-2008 Member-of-the-Year Award. He previously served as vice president, group account supervisor at Grey Healthcare Group, one of the world's major healthcare communications agencies, where he played a leading role in the launches of Aciphex® and Celexa®. Mr Vitat earned his graduate degree in business administration with honors at the Ecole des dirigeants et créateurs d'entreprises in Paris, France. He also holds a certificate in medical writing and editing from The University of Chicago.
